Operational Solutions – Assistant Manager
Isio is recruiting for an Assistant Manager to join our Pensions Operational Solutions Team. We work with some of the largest and most complex pensions schemes in the country to deliver the best outcomes for members. We advise on governance, data quality, benefit calculations, and process improvement to help schemes achieve their strategic objectives.
You will be part of Isio’s Actuarial & Consulting team (over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries) advising clients across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. The role involves delivering solutions for trustees, sponsors, and schemes, including large-scale communications projects and implementing alternative reward and pension provision.
Role and Responsibilities
* Contribute to the successful delivery of projects to support the Operational Solutions (OS) team revenue targets.
* Perform a client-facing role with some of the largest and most complex DB and DC schemes, and insurers.
* Engage directly with pension providers, insurers and public service schemes in the UK.
* Provide support on projects to deliver:
o Reviews of data quality
o Pension benefit calculations
o Administration operations
o Service improvement plans
o Data management plans and benefit remediation projects
* Involvement in GMP reconciliation and data cleansing work prior to GMP equalisation, or other data and benefit audit projects. Carry out more complex benefit calculations.
* Produce client deliverables (usually in report format) and attend meetings to discuss findings.
* Check work carried out by more junior colleagues and support training and mentoring within the team.
Key Skills & Experience
* Solid understanding of Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) pension schemes, including their administration and regulatory requirements.
* Experience as a consultant or an experienced Pensions Administrator in a consultancy-based environment, ideally with client-facing responsibilities.
* Ability to review and interpret complex data and reports with accuracy and compliance.
* Experience in technical aspects of pensions administration, including calculations, benefit audits, and service improvement plans.
* Knowledge of UK pension regulations and compliance requirements to ensure activities meet legal standards.
* Experience working on multiple projects concurrently with timely delivery and quality outcomes.
