The role:
Reporting to the Product & Procurement Manager, it will be the principal job purpose of this position to provide cost-effective purchasing of products, materials, consumables, services and ad-hoc items from UK suppliers to ensure safety stock levels are in place, and any immediate and forward requirement dates are reacted on, to prevent production delays, as well as playing an integral part in the businesses vision to achieve Net Zero status.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Run planning reports and review data to determine replenishment order quantities and delivery dates.
2. Generate purchase orders, confirm delivery dates, costs and update purchase orders.
3. Create and maintain pricing and vendor relationships within SAP.
4. Run reports to track and chase overdue items to minimise disruption.
5. Negotiate saving opportunities where possible.
6. Create in-bound deliveries.
7. Track shipments on the freight portal.
8. Generate purchase orders for Made to Order component parts and subcontract services.
9. Generate purchase orders for ad-hoc items examples: – software, tooling etc. and services examples maintenance work.
10. Liaise with suppliers on invoice queries.
11. Assist the team on reducing single use plastic year on year.
12. Streamline processes where possible.
13. Maintain/track raw material prices and commodities.
14. Complete daily unconfirmed report lines, when requested.
15. Assist with master data management.
16. Flexible approach to tasks and working hours to ensure targets are achieved.

17. Good understanding of suppliers and supply chain procedures.

19. Experience of using MRP systems.
20. Knowledge of Net Zero and how it impacts the supply chain.
21. Ability to negotiate and maintain accurate records.
22. Knowledge of market trends.
23. Experience of working in a fast paced and often demanding environment.
24. Experience of working in the engineering sector.
25. Good communicator both verbally and written with the ability to adapt to the audience.
26. Supportive team member with a willingness to be flexible to ensure the Product & Procurement team collectively delivers the required level of service to stakeholders.
27. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and SAP with good administration skills and attention to detail.
28. Planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload and competing demands and manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders.
