Standard 8 Recruitment is hiring for an I.T. Support Technician. It’s onsite in East Cumbria, so if you were hoping to answer tickets from your sofa, this probably isn’t your moment.
The job
• You’ll keep multiple UK sites running, or at least stop them breaking quite so often
• Look after Microsoft 365 and Active Directory, the usual suspects
• Set up desktops, laptops, printers and tablets
• Manage mobiles through Intune
• Tackle networks: DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, all the fun stuff
• Troubleshoot software issues, hardware issues and occasionally human issues
• If you know your way around virtualisation, even better
What they actually want
• Someone who knows Windows, Office, AD, Group Policy and networking beyond “turn it off and on again”
• Someone organised who doesn’t leave a trail of half-finished fixes behind them
• Someone friendly enough that people don’t dread calling IT
