Job Description: As a Live-In Carer with Home Instead, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients to live independently and comfortably in their own homes. You will provide personalized care tailored to each individual's needs, promoting their well-being, dignity, and quality of life. This role is ideal for compassionate, patient, and dedicated individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care: Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring that clients maintain their personal hygiene and dignity.
2. Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications and support clients in following their medication schedules.
3. Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging clients in conversation and activities that enrich their daily lives.
4. Meal Preparation: Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals that cater to the client's dietary requirements and preferences.
5. Household Tasks: Assist with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
6. Mobility Support: Aid clients with mobility, including the use of mobility aids and assistance with transfers from bed to chair.
7. Care Planning: Work closely with healthcare professionals, care managers, and family members to develop and implement personalized care plans.
8. Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and monitor the client's health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the care manager or relevant healthcare professional.
9. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies, providing first aid and contacting the appropriate emergency services if necessary.
Experience: Previous experience in a live-in caregiving or healthcare role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Personal Qualities: Compassionate, empathetic, patient, with strong communication skills, patience, understanding, and flexibility. A valid driving license is desirable but not essential.
