The Street Events Stewards are on the front line of the biggest event of the Edinburgh Festivals. During the Fringe, the Street Events team manages vibrant street performance areas in the heart of the city, creating a carnival atmosphere that attracts thousands of locals and tourists. The team works directly with performers and the public to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.
The Street Events team includes a Project Manager, Administrator, Coordinators, stewards, and a contracted security team. Management works closely with the City of Edinburgh Council, Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service to ensure a safe event.
Rate of pay: £13.45 per hour. Normal working hours are 45 hours a week, worked in eight and a half‑hour shifts with a one‑hour unpaid break. Shifts run between 09:45 and 19:15, six days a week, organized via a rota system. A compulsory paid training day will be held on Friday 31 July.
