A little more about your role … Our Regulated Water Asset Design team serves the municipal water sector both in the UK and internationally. We hold long term framework agreements direct with water companies, including Severn Trent Water and Southwest Water. We also hold excellent relationships and trading agreements with blue chip contractors, including Costain and Galliford Try, for whom we deliver projects across the UK. We deliver a full range of design services across wastewater treatment, water treatment, sewerage and water network schemes. To find out more about our Water business click on the following link and discover what awaits you at https://www.wsp.com/en-us/sectors/wastewater Due to a significant increase in the demand for our services, we are actively recruiting Senior Civil Engineers and Principal Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation Engineers (EICA) to help us service the AMP8 water industry capital investment programme. Key Responsibilities You will be an integral member of the Water Engineering team and work independently and within a team environment to design and deliver technical solutions for various types of facilities and capital projects. This role will support the engineering and design delivery on a wide range of projects primarily producing and/or checking detailed EICA engineering deliverables. These deliverables will support tenders, concept design, detailed design and lead onto construction and commissioning support. The workload is extremely varied and there will be opportunities to become involved in some challenging projects within several sectors. Deliver EICA design inputs for infrastructure related projects. Preparation and/or review of EICA package deliverables such as technical specifications, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, user requirement specifications and associated EICA documentation. Review and execute tender evaluations. Participate in proposals, scoping of work, identifying key tasks, packages and developing resourcing/time estimates. Understand requirements in relation to installations relating to DSEAR and EICA equipment in explosive atmospheres. Participate and manage inspection, testing, setting to work and commissioning stages relevant to ICA equipment and installations. Attend factory acceptance tests for panel, PLC/HMI application software and SCADA. Coach and mentor ICA discipline junior staff. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… Degree qualified (IET accredited) in electrical or control engineering, or the minimum of an electrical/control HND with substantial experience Professional registration with the Engineering Council as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer Extensive experience in EICA engineering design for water infrastructure, including preparing and reviewing deliverables such as technical specs, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, user requirement specs, and network architecture drawings. Knowledgeable about DSEAR, electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres, and CDM regulations for installations. Strong client-facing skills; diligent, collaborative, motivated, and able to work with clients, WSP teams, or independently. Willing to travel to operational and construction sites for surveys, inspections, and testing, while ensuring safety. Practical understanding of electrical safe systems of work.
