About the role
We’re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin’s Buffets Department based in Skegness.
Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen and assist in leading a large team of chefs. You will also step up in the Kitchen Manager's absence.
You will be passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience, monitoring this regularly, and developing action plans for continuous improvement. You should have great leadership skills to support and develop your team, conduct daily briefings, handle stock control, and review food presentation. Financial performance is important, and you will deliver food cost budgets through effective menu planning, cooking to standards, and specifications. You will also support food hygiene standards and health and safety compliance according to legislation and company policies.
You will be a role model for Butlin’s unique working style, ensuring training schedules and performance development plans are in place for your team, inspiring them to deliver a great experience to guests every time. This role offers the opportunity to lead and develop a team in our main buffet restaurant serving guests with a half-board dining package.
Key Responsibilities
We seek individuals with experience in a similar role with large volume turnover, capable of working in a fast-paced environment with good time management and organizational skills, as our buffet department can host up to 3,000 guests per service.
You must be hardworking, reliable, and proactive, always seeking ways to improve team performance and standards.

Candidates must have passed their Level 3 Food Safety qualification and be confident in leading a team to maintain high standards in a busy kitchen environment.
Responsibilities include managing margins, controlling costs, and ensuring health, safety, and hygiene standards are met.
Our chefs are passionate about creating memorable guest experiences, and the ideal candidate will be fun, team-oriented, and dedicated to guest satisfaction.
This role covers a 5-day workweek over 7 days, totaling 40 hours, including evenings and weekends. It does not include onsite accommodation.
