What you will be doing
Produce fully integrated multi-discipline programmes using planning software and spreadsheets, including resourcing and cost loading.
Produce periodic project planning related information for the Alliance as instructed.
Assist Project Controls function in the production of reports as required for each project.
Ensuring that the planning management software is kept up-to-date and managed in accordance with procedures and with instruction from the Planning & Scheduling Manager.
Produce periodic Schedule Adherence Reports for review by the Planning & Scheduling Manager.
Assist in the development and mentoring of junior planning and project control staff.
Support the Planning & Scheduling Manager and Lead Planners where required.
Deputise for Lead Planners where required
Participate and support the planning team in project, programme planning and progress meetings.
Lead in the production of programmes, including facilitating integration workshops and ensuring compliance with NR QSRA requirements.
Ensure all project control information is produced and available for project reviews and all other internal requirements.
Provide the project teams with programme information to allow them to make informed and timely decisions.
Ensure compliance with business specific document control requirements.
Ensure all 3rd party interfaces, assumptions and risks are identified and communicated accordingly.
Agree and establish client and other stakeholder reporting requirements for all projects to which you are assigned.
Ensure compliance with Delivering Work Within Possession (DWWP) standard for all projects to which you are assigned..
Who we are looking for
Further Education qualification (A-Levels) or equivalent;
High level numeracy and IT skills, with proven ability to expertly use a range of relevant software, in particular MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
Previous experience in using Primavera P6 or similar planning software.
Ideally have railway or engineering industry experience;
Ideally hold a Higher Education qualification in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or in a related field;
Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management or equivalent;
Experience in project delivery or consultancy role
