A UK subsidiary of one of Europe’s largest rail contractors’ groups has retained our services to recruit a high-calibre leader to manage their Work Winning function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth by driving major infrastructure pursuits together with promoting a culture of success and a work winning strategy in the rail and power division.
This is an exciting time for our client as the company's new objectives include diversifying its rail business into power sectors to broaden its portfolio. Additionally, they’re expanding acquisitions in the UK to accelerate growth and consolidate its presence throughout the country.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to achieve organisational goals.
* Ensure the business has an appropriate pipeline of contracts and opportunities to deliver against its key metrics including, order intake, sales, and margin.
* Lead the creation of compelling, compliant and timely proposals, bids, and tender submissions.
* Chair meetings with regards to go / no go opportunities.
* Monitor industry trends and identify potential clients and projects.
* Cultivate strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private companies, and partners.
* Develop and manage a work winning team that includes work winning, strategy, business development, bids, tenders and estimating (utilising both direct reports and resources from across business regions / functions).
Requirements
* HNC or Degree level qualification
* Proven track record in work-winning, business development, or proposal management.
* Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
* Strategic thinking: Holistic approach to achieving organisational goals.
* Communication with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Clear understanding of industry trends, client needs, and competitive landscape.
* Experience within a similar role either within the railway industry, construction/engineering or power & distribution.
