A rapidly expanding, award-winning multi-strategy hedge fund are looking to hire their first outright London based risk resource.
Given recent rapid expansion and increased trading volumes, the fund is in a position where they need a risk manager to directly support the CIO / investment team that the role will sit with.
Core to the role is ensuring that the investment team stay within the correct risk limits, working with the technology team to correctly understand / set limits, managing the PPM and constantly monitoring constraints that the PM team need to be under (and what the process / course of action is if they are close to limits). Whilst the role does not require a quant that is going to buildout a whole new framework or tools, the hire will work closely with the technology team to buildout new and/or improved reports for risk limit warnings. There is an advisory part to the role that will place the hire at the forefront of investment decisions.
The hire will work their way towards the Head of Risk title within 2yrs ideally.
Candidates should have 5-10yrs market/portfolio risk management experience in either a hedge fund or an IB. Multi-asset experience is required. Some from of advanced tech skills would be useful.
The role has some flex on base salary (most likely within a £100-150k range) – the focus is getting the most relevant candidate and offering him/her an attractive uplift on current base. Non-investment staff at the firm typically earn 50-100% bonuses – we expect that a successful risk hire should be towards the top end of this range.
It is possible to WFH 2 days per week if an employee chooses to.
