The Community Mental Health Service in North East Fife is looking for an individual with experience working with adults with mental illness to join the Community Mental Health Team.
The CMHT provides quality, evidence-based interventions for those experiencing major mental illness and disorder and have embraced new technological approaches in the delivery of these, as well as continuing to deliver face to face interventions where appropriate. You will be responsible for supporting and delivering excellent patient-centered care to our secondary care client group. You will be a part of a larger multi-disciplinary team with a focus on joint working to deliver safe, high quality care. You will support the nursing team in delivering care plans to our clients and supporting their recovery journey.
In addition, you will have a key role in the provision of support to our patients by participating in physical healthcare monitoring for patients receiving medications such as Clozapine and Lithium, as well as those with specific conditions, for example, Eating Disorders. You will also provide general health advice, and support the developing Physical Healthcare Hubs to ensure that patients receive appropriate health reviews and screening. You will undertake Venepuncture as well carry out other physical investigations, including; FEWS, Height, Weight, ECG, MUST as well as using a range of screening tools. Training will be provided for successful candidates in all aspects of the physical healthcare activities required.
Applications for these posts are invited from individuals able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with adults presenting with a range of mental health problems. As an enthusiastic mental health practitioner you will join this service and will work within a multi-disciplinary team committed to partnership working with strong links to other secondary care and community services.
You will have some experience of team working, problem solving, flexibility and good communication skills. Ideally you will have the necessary skills and experience relating to physical health care monitoring, including Venepuncture. However, there is an expectation that you will undertake any necessary training relating to physical healthcare monitoring as this is a key requirement of the role. You must also have ability to move across sites as this post will support 2 teams

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
