Maintenance Electrician - On Site (Secure Environment)
An exciting opportunity is available for an On?Site Maintenance Electrician working within a secure custodial environment.
Working Hours
The role is full?time, 39 hours per week, worked across a 7day shift pattern. This includes 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, which attracts an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
Salary
The salary range is £29,009 - £35,015 per annum, dependent on experience.
The Role
The position supports a long?term facilities management contract within the justice sector, helping to maintain safe, clean and efficient environments across secure sites in England and Wales.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including associated administrative duties
2. Fault find and diagnose issues across electrical systems
3. Complete like?for?like replacements and minor electrical works, ensuring inspections and testing are conducted in line with BS7671, with results accurately recorded
4. Ensure all electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational, supporting a secure environment for staff and residents
5. Assist the Responsible Person and Authorised Person when required
6. Ensure Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and safe systems of work are consistently followed
7. Support escorting duties and undertake other reasonable tasks as required
Candidate Requirements
8. City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
9. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) - 17th Edition considered with upskilling support
10. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
11. Experience in planned and preventative maintenance environments
12. Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills
13. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
14. Comfortable working at height, independently, and using initiative
15. Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems (desirable)
16. Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations
17. Basic IT skills
