About Trident Group
Trident Group is a long-established social housing and care provider, supporting people and communities across the Midlands. The Group delivers homes, support and opportunities for thousands of residents and service users across 3,500 homes, putting people and communities firmly at the heart of everything it does. With over 62 years of service and a strong social mission, Trident Group continues to evolve, strengthening governance, improving data quality and modernising the organisation to deliver higher‑quality, customer‑centred services.
About The Role
As Trident continues its digital transformation journey, we are recruiting an IT Operations Engineer to join our Technology & Digital Team. In this role you will own the space between our day‑to‑day business‑as‑usual services and our strategic project delivery, ensuring nothing falls through the gap. You will work under the direction of our Technology & Digital Manager and Senior Technical Analyst on project matters, and provide guidance to our Infrastructure Analyst on operational matters, acting as the critical link that keeps technology delivery coherent, consistent and continuous.
About You
You are someone who has grown beyond purely reactive, day‑to‑day support work and is ready to take genuine ownership of a broader operational remit, whilst also being comfortable rolling up your sleeves and contributing to project delivery when required. You have solid hands‑on experience across the Microsoft stack, networking, security and device management, and a confident, methodical problem‑solving approach. You are experienced enough to guide and support less senior colleagues, and self‑aware enough to know when to take direction from those above you. Highly organised and naturally collaborative, you take personal ownership of ensuring new solutions land well and remain effective – understanding that great technology delivery does not end at go‑live.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the operational bridge between business‑as‑usual services and project delivery, ensuring continuity, stability and effective service transition across both.
* Support the Senior Technical Analyst in the delivery of project and transformation initiatives, contributing operational knowledge and ensuring solutions are built with real‑world operability in mind.
* Provide guidance, support and operational direction to the Technical Analyst, acting as a senior point of reference for escalations and complex issues.
* Own the service transition process, ensuring new technologies and changes are effectively embedded into live operations with appropriate documentation, runbooks and supporting materials.
* Identify recurring operational challenges and inefficiencies, translating these into structured improvement proposals for the Senior Technical Analyst and Technology & Digital Manager.
* Manage key operational processes including change management, patch management, monitoring and incident resolution.
* Champion a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team.
Why Join Us?
* Be part of a purpose‑driven organisation with a strong social mission.
* Play a key role in a major transformation that will shape the future of Trident Group.
* Work in support of, and alongside, teams dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of residents and service users across the Midlands.
* Join a forward‑thinking organisation that encourages accountability and values innovation and creativity.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
We celebrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and, as a trauma‑informed organisation, we are continually striving to build a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and guided by our beacon of hope.
Disability‑Confident Commitment
* Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible.
* Communicate and promote vacancies.
* Offer an interview to disabled people.
* Anticipate and provide reasonable adjustments as required.
* Support any existing employee who acquires a disability or long‑term health condition, enabling them to stay in work.
* At least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people.
