Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Regional Telecoms Engineer to join our dynamic team. This permanent, full-time role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our telecommunications infrastructure across the South West region. The ideal candidate will possess intermediate experience in the telecommunications industry.
The right candidate will be based in the South West area, with travel required for work assignments away from the office. Flexibility and the ability to work on-site at different locations, this will be essential for this role. and work across all sectors of Telecoms Engineering at Orbital, to include Wireless, Fibre and PIA.
To apply for this role you will be practical, organised, motivated, articulate, and proactive, with a strong attention to detail. The willingness to learn new things and embrace technologies used within the company will greatly help you with further progression, complemented by the ability to complete tasks under minimal supervision.
Your job will include both installations and maintenance at residential properties and commercial premises. As this position is customer facing, you will be required to present a friendly, helpful, positive attitude at all times. You will also be required to dress appropriately for the role and therefore you will be provided with company branded attire to allow you to be the external representative of the company.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a similar role, for other telecommunication companies or satellite based installers, would of course be advantageous.
* An understanding of wireless technologies and the radio spectrum will be required.
* Experience in routing cables, mounting aerials, poles and brackets will be required.
Full training will be given but applicants MUST show to have the following Attributes & Essential Skillset.
These should include:
* Confident Working at Heights
* Experience Working with Ladders
* Experience of using Safety Equipment
* Good Knowledge of using PC/Laptop & Software Packages
* Field / Site based H&S understanding
* Use of power tools and all associated hand tools required for the type of role
Schedule:
* Day shift on site for 9am – 5.30pm
* Monday to Friday
* Overtime
* Weekend availability
* Enrolled to an on-call rota
* Working away
* Night work when required
