ALN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Newport)
Pay: £95–£105 per day
We are currently recruiting an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Newport.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring and committed individual who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs in a primary setting.
The Role
You will be supporting pupils with a range of ALN, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs
Assist with learning, engagement, and emotional regulation
Support behaviour management in line with school policies
Work closely with class teachers and the ALNCo
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting children with ALN (school-based or similar setting)
A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting pupils’ development
Relevant ALN or education qualifications are desirable but not essential
