We're pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected precision engineering business based in Birmingham, for an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys low‑volume, high‑accuracy work and wants to take ownership of programming, setting and producing quality components.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for programming and setting CNC lathes using Fusion 360, producing small‑batch quantities typically ranging from 1–20 off. The work is varied, technical and ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving and precision machining.
Key Responsibilities:

Program and set CNC lathes using Fusion 360 for small‑batch production.
*
Interpret engineering drawings and create accurate machining programs.
*
Select appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds for a variety of materials.
*
Produce high‑precision components to tight tolerances.
*
Optimise programs to improve efficiency and repeatability.
*
Conduct first‑off inspections and make adjustments as required.
*
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve machining challenges.
*
Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised work environment.
About You:
*
Strong CNC turning background with proven programming experience.
*
Confident using Fusion 360 for programming.
*
Able to work independently on small‑batch, one‑off and prototype work.
*
Quality‑focused with excellent attention to detail.
*
Comfortable working to tight tolerances and engineering standards.
Working hours:
* Monday to Friday 8am-4pm + overtime
