What we are looking for:
We are seeking a proactive and passionate Airport Safety & Compliance Business Partner to join our dynamic Airport Safety team. In this role, you will help shape and uphold a culture of safety, wellbeing and regulatory excellence by working collaboratively with our teams across the airport.
About the role:
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the delivery of tasks required to maintain a compliant Safety Management System.
* Preparing OH&S updates (including trends), documents and data for meetings, events and KPI reporting as directed by the Airport Safety & Compliance Manager.
* Investigating accidents or incidents in accordance with defined protocols to identify root causes, effective interventions, report back and ensure airport safety alerts are communicated where applicable.
* Monitoring and coordinating the response to remedial actions and closure of actions within agreed timescales.
* Supporting with the management of the Legal and Interested Parties registers for the Airport Safety Team.
* Supporting the procurement and onboarding of new suppliers from a Safety and Food Safety perspective.
* As directed by the Airport Safety & Compliance Manager, liaising with managers, employees, customers, contractors, tenants and third parties on OH&S matters, policies and procedures as required to promote a safety culture, understanding of safe practices and compliance with OH&S legislation and regulations.
* As part of the Safety team, proactively identifying potential operational risks and opportunities, and work with stakeholders across the business to implement solutions, responses and actions.
* Undertaking site audits and inspections under CAA/HSE legislation and ISO45001:2018 standards, identifying areas for improvement and reporting findings.
* Supporting and providing practical guidance and solutions to the People & Wellbeing department and Line Managers on OH&S and wellbeing matters, including:
* Working conditions and reasonable workplace adjustments
* OH&S referrals and plans
* Risk assessments (e.g. illness, injury, disability, pregnancy & post-natal)
* Return to work programmes
* Pre-employment health screening
* Health surveillance
* DSE assessments
* PPE
* Attending meetings and/or facilitating conversations with employees on the above matters.

* Aerodrome license and CAA standards.

* Support the team with adhoc activities/tasks as reasonably requested.
About you: Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
* Evidence of Right to Work in the UK.
* Full 5-year employment/educational history required (with no unaccounted-for gaps).
* Able to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check (CRC) certificate to the required security clearance level for this role.
* Hold a full valid UK Driving License or equivalent.
* IOSH Managing Safety or equivalent certificate.
* Safety experience within an airport or similar environment.
* Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems and ISO 45001:2018 standards or similar.
* Have a proven ability to work autonomously towards targets and deadlines.
* Demonstrable ability to learn quickly and apply learning effectively in a practical context.
* Flexible and adaptable; able to meet the needs of the business and navigate ambiguity.
* Great team player, able to contribute to a positive and healthy team environment.
* Proficient computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
* Have working knowledge in Health and Safety legislation and best practice to assist with compliance and continuous improvement.
Desirable:
* Professional Health or Safety Qualification.
* Auditor qualification or demonstrable experience.
* Influencing and Leadership qualification.
