Job Description
The In-House Legal Counsel, Real Estate Leasing will have varied responsibilities:
1. Work directly with the new store opening and real estate team to review leases and provide specialist real estate legal advice
2. As the first attorney hired in the US, work with the wider legal team overseas and the local business to provode wider legal support/ supervise outside counsel (up to 20% if the time, until the local legal team expands)
3. Draft, review, and negotiate leases
4. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements
5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
6. Manage relationships with external counsel as needed for specialized legal matters
7. Work closely with the legal department overseas to ensure alignment and a consistent approach to legal strategy and risk management in the US
8. Support corporate governance initiatives and other legal projects as required

Candidates must be based in Charlotte, North Carolina and able to work from the Charlotte office at least 4 days per week, and have US work authorization now and indefinitely. The client will consider applicants looking to relocate to Charlotte from elsewhere in the US - must have a. state bar in good standing.
