Overview
We have a one-year fixed-term vacancy to cover maternity leave in the Biomedical Scientist team of the Biochemistry Department at Wexham Park Hospital. The role will support a fully accredited laboratory, which is UKAS certified and holds IBMS training status for Registration and Specialist Portfolios.
The laboratory is fully automated, supported by a GLP track system, and equipped with routine biochemistry analysers (Winpath Enterprise, Abbott Alinity ci) as well as specialist chemistry laboratories (TOSOH G11, Kryptor Compact Plus, OsmoPro, Northstar Bio-UV spectrophotometer).
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the line manager to deliver high-quality technical service, ensuring compliance with the standards set by UKAS and ISO 15189:2022.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, both technical and medical, to support the efficient delivery of services.
* Participate in a 24/7 shift rota as required.
* Be primarily based at Wexham Park Hospital, with occasional travel to other sites within the Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Network.
