Charities Solicitor (5+ years')An established Scottish law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Charities & Third Sector team in Edinburgh. The team advises a broad range of clients, from local community groups and start-ups to international charities and networks, on charity law, governance, restructuring, regulatory compliance and trustee training.Key responsibilities:
Provide high-quality legal advice on charity law and regulatory matters, including OSCR reorganisations, restructurings and governance issuesPrepare and deliver trustee training sessionsSupervise and mentor junior team membersContribute to business development initiatives and help grow the Charities & Third Sector practiceSupport cross-selling opportunities across the firm and maintain strong client relationships
You will:
Ideally be experienced in advising charities, not-for-profit, or social enterprise clients, or candidates from corporate, private client, or public law backgrounds seeking a sector focus changeBe able to work with minimal supervision and deliver practical, commercial adviceHave strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approachDemonstrate a genuine interest in the sector through work, trusteeships, volunteering, or public interest initiatives
