My client is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to lead their busy production team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a smaller company setting where flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving skills are essential.
As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising production operatives, ensuring smooth day-to-day workflow, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position requires a proactive leader who can train, motivate, and manage a team to consistently meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organise and supervise production staff to maintain a steady workflow and achieve production targets.
2. Communicate expectations clearly and provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members.
3. Train and develop staff, offering opportunities for skill growth and progression.
4. Maintain production schedules, ensuring work is completed on time.
5. Monitor and evaluate production processes, implementing cost-saving strategies where appropriate.
6. Oversee quality control checks and ensure all documentation is accurate and signed off.
7. Identify and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
8. Maintain equipment condition by reporting repair needs promptly.
9. Uphold health & safety standards and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
10. Manage performance reviews and appraisals for production operatives.
11. Work collaboratively with other departments to support business needs.
12. Analyse production records and report key metrics to management.
About You:
13. Proven experience supervising a production team in a food manufacturing environment (essential).
14. Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
15. Broad knowledge of production planning processes and quality control procedures.
16. Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
17. Comfortable being hands-on and directly involved in production activities.
18. Able to manage shift workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
19. Knowledge of machine operation and basic troubleshooting.
