Our Southwest Core team plays a key role in delivering reactive and planned maintenance across a wide range of client sites. As a Mechanical Plumber, you’ll support both commercial and domestic plumbing and heating systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
Position
We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Plumber to install, maintain, and repair plumbing, heating, ventilation, and drainage systems within commercial, industrial, and public sector buildings. This role blends hands‑on plumbing expertise with strong mechanical engineering knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Plumber, you will:
Install, maintain, and repair commercial hot and cold water systems, drainage, pipework, and mechanical plant (pumps, calorifiers, booster sets, pressurisation units).
Work on commercial heating systems including boilers, radiators, and associated pipework.
Support mechanical elements of HVAC systems.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering plans.
Carry out commissioning, pressure testing, and system diagnostics.
Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and Water Regulations (WRAS).
Demonstrate strong health & safety awareness.
Use mechanical jointing techniques such as soldering, press‑fit, threading, and flanged systems.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical faults.
Work at heights using relevant training (IPAF/PASMA).
Requirements
NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent trade qualification
G3 Unvented
Minimum of 3-5 years proven experience working as a commercial/industrial plumber or mechanical maintenance engineer
Full, clean UK Driving Licence
