Job Purpose / Overview
We are seeking a Piping Construction Delivery Lead to take responsibility for activities in the field relating to the construction of piping installation works at Hinkley Point C (HPC). In this role, you will manage and support a team of Construction Delivery Managers, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of the project.
Contextual Information
HPC is a nuclear site, based in West Somerset, where two major EPR nuclear plants are being built. As part of the HPC site construction team, you will contribute to delivering these critical projects, requiring experience in delivering large-scale projects.
Principal Accountabilities
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing support to Construction Delivery Managers to mitigate safety and quality concerns.
* Driving works on site and ensuring contractor performance aligns with the agreed programme.
* Proactively communicating/coordinating with site functions and Construction Delivery Managers.
* Organizing and conducting meetings with contractors to ensure effective communication.
* Undertaking safety and/or assurance inspections to support project objectives.
Dimensions
* The client will be working as Principal Contractor for this Major Project.
* The role will be based at Hinkley Point C with potential travel to other company locations.
* Manage and coordinate delivery of service contract partners.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Substantial experience in piping installation aspects in power generation projects.
* Ability to manage a high-performing team and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Experience in construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.
* Good understanding of CDM Regulations and large project delivery.
* Excellent organization and communication skills.
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Construction management.
* Results-focused mindset with strong initiative and accountability.
* Experience in a high-security environment.
* Experience within the Nuclear environment or Power Generation Construction.
