Overview
Domestic Assistant role at NHS Scotland. Band 2. ROTA. Contracted Hours 15.78. Locality: Perth & Kinross Locality. Site: Blairgowrie Community Hospital. Domestic Services Department are recruiting for Domestic Assistants to undertake cleaning responsibilities across Perth & Kinross locality in order to deliver the highest standard of cleanliness within the healthcare setting, including wards, side rooms, theatres, offices, health centres, GP practices, etc.
There may be a requirement to work Public Holidays which will be allocated in advance by your Supervisor/Line Manager. This post does not meet Home Office Guidelines for Sponsorship/ Skilled Worker Visa.
You Must Have The Ability To
* Work as part of a team or on your own initiative (including lone working).
* Possess good verbal and written communication skills and be able to listen and communicate information effectively.
* Respond constructively to unpredictable situations and cope under pressure.
* Complete Domestic related paperwork.
* Have awareness of basic health and safety and infection control issues relevant to the role.
* Carry out tasks in a methodical manner and follow instructions.
* Carry out mandatory training, both online and face to face.
* Undertake a range of duties in a safe and competent manner, which includes walking and standing for most of the shift, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling and lifting, using appropriate aids.
* Cope working in busy clinical and non-clinical environments, including areas with increased heat, secure units, and distressed patients.
* Work in environments that may be classed as infected.
* Maintain a professional approach and confidentiality.
* Learn and adapt to changing requirements.
All Domestic Assistants are required to work throughout NHS Tayside at various sites/areas as needed.
Responsibilities
Domestic Assistants will undertake cleaning responsibilities across the Perth & Kinross locality to deliver high standards of cleanliness within healthcare settings, including wards, side rooms, theatres, offices, health centres and GP practices.
