Job Description: Lead Pharmacist for Sexual Health & HIV
The successful candidate will lead, develop, deliver, and evaluate clinical pharmacy services at the Wolverton Centre for Sexual Health and HIV, aligning with the objectives set by the Clinical Director for Sexual Health & HIV and the Senior Principal Pharmacist.
1. Support the Clinical Director in the delivery, development, and coordination of HIV services in accordance with the specialty and Trust objectives.
2. Manage daily operations of the HIV clinical service, reporting to the Clinical Director and the consultant lead for HIV.
3. Develop and evaluate pharmacy services for HIV patients to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective drug use.
4. Optimize pharmaceutical care for HIV patients, including regular medication reviews and adherence support for those on antiretroviral therapy.
5. Lead pharmacy aspects of clinical trials in Sexual Health & HIV.
6. Provide training on HIV & sexual health to pharmacy staff.
7. Offer medicines advice and reviews for HIV inpatients.
8. Maintain the Wolverton electronic prescribing system (Inform).
9. Oversee all pharmacy services at the Wolverton Centre.
10. Identify patients needing additional support and liaise with multidisciplinary teams and primary/secondary care.
11. Demonstrate clinical reasoning, professional accountability, and liaise effectively with the team for seamless patient care.
12. Accurately dispense, check medicines, and counsel patients and carers.
13. Prescribe medications for HIV/sexual health within scope and policy.
14. Review and ensure pharmacy services meet guidelines and standards.
15. Coordinate adverse drug reaction reporting within the HIV/sexual health specialty.
