Support Worker – flexible hours, with a UK manual driving license - Wrexham
Are you looking for some extra pennies to top up your income? Do you want to make a real difference in someone’s life and help them live their best life?
Then this position is for you! We are seeking flexible Support Workers who are attentive, resilient, and genuinely motivated to make a difference.
What will you be doing?
Our goal is to positively impact the daily lives of those we support. Your day may start with helping them prepare in the morning—showering, using the bathroom, dressing. Each day varies: assisting with shopping, keeping fit, attending clubs and activities, or simply keeping them company while watching TV. You might also help with medication and medical appointments, with full training provided.
These individuals are lively and fun. Can you support them in leading meaningful lives and bring new ideas for activities? We welcome your creativity and initiative.
Where are our services?
We operate four services around Wrexham—Ponciau, Ruabon, Llay, and Coed-y-Glyn. You will be matched to a service that fits best. Each person has their own flat or bungalow, ensuring independence.
As a flexible staff member, you will mainly work at one location but may assist others as needed.
Note: We currently cannot offer sponsorships pending guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time.
What do we want from you?
We value warmth, friendliness, willingness to learn, and celebration of diversity. At MacIntyre, all staff are included, valued, and respected.
A caring, patient attitude is essential. Training in first aid, safeguarding, and medication management will be provided, with scheduled courses during your employment.
You must hold a manual UK driving license, as driving enables opportunities for those we support. You won’t be racing between appointments.
Our support is 24/7, so availability on weekends and holidays is desirable. Shifts may start early (7am) or end late (10pm). Flexibility and short-notice availability are highly valued.
What about pay?
In Wrexham, Relief Support Workers earn £12.00/hour. Sleep-ins earn an additional £65 per night, potentially adding up to £3,380 annually if you do one sleep-in per week.
