Head of Finance
PE-Backed Media Group
We are partnering with a Private Equity-backed, high-growth media business seeking a commercially driven Head of Finance to play a pivotal role in scaling the platform and driving value creation.
Operating within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this role will work closely with the CFO, Board, and Private Equity sponsors to strengthen financial controls, enhance reporting quality, and optimise cash performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role with significant exposure to investors and lenders.
The Role
Leadership & Team Development
* Lead and develop a finance function across management accounting, transactional finance, treasury, and reporting.
* Build a high-performance culture aligned to a PE-backed, results-driven environment.
* Evolve the finance structure to support growth, acquisitions, and scalability.
Financial Control & Reporting
* Oversee month-end, consolidation, and reporting across multiple legal entities.
* Lead the statutory audit process and ensure compliance with UK GAAP / FRS 101.
* Deliver high-quality board packs with insightful variance analysis and KPI reporting.
* Strengthen financial controls and governance frameworks in line with PE expectations.
Private Equity & Stakeholder Management
* Act as key contact for lenders, banking partners, and external advisors.
* Prepare financial information for Financial and Tax Due Diligence processes, working alongside leading advisory firms
* Support PE reporting requirements including covenant reporting, cash flow visibility, and EBITDA optimisation.
Commercial & Strategic Finance
* Own treasury management and cash flow forecasting, ensuring strong liquidity and working capital discipline.
* Lead integration of newly acquired businesses into the group finance function, systems, and controls.
* Drive automation initiatives across consolidation and cash flow forecasting to improve reporting speed and quality.
The Candidate
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
* Experience within a PE-backed, high-growth, or acquisitive environment.
* Strong technical grounding in statutory reporting and audit leadership.
* Proven track record in acquisition integration and due diligence support.
* Commercially astute with strong cash flow and EBITDA focus.
* Confident engaging with investors, lenders, and senior stakeholders.
* Experience in media, digital, advertising, or content-driven businesses essential.
