Nursery Third In Charge – Up to £29,000 Join a nursery rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with bright, well-resourced rooms and a large outdoor space including a mud kitchen and sand area. Children are given time and space to explore, building confidence and skills, while you help ensure the smooth running of the whole nursery. As Third In Charge, you will support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager in managing daily operations, staff, and room practice, while maintaining high-quality care and early years education. Before You Apply A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification is required. Recent experience working in an EYFS nursery setting is essential. This role is not suitable for applicants without hands-on leadership experience within a nursery. Key Job Details Salary up to £29,000 per year (dependent on experience) 40 hours per week, full-time Permanent contract Private day nursery, Early Years sector Ofsted rated Good Why This Role Is Worth Considering Opportunity to contribute to operational decisions and staff development Ongoing training and professional development Pension scheme and healthcare plan Discounted childcare Access to employee benefits portal What You’ll Need Level 3 Early Years qualification (full and relevant) Recent experience in an EYFS nursery, including some leadership or supervisory responsibility Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child development Confidence managing staff, routines, and nursery-wide practice Desirable Paediatric First Aid certification Experience supporting Ofsted inspections What You’ll Do Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager in daily nursery operations Supervise and mentor room staff to maintain consistent practice Deliver high-quality care and education across rooms in line with the EYFS Act as a key person where required, maintaining learning journals and tracking children’s progress Plan and adapt activities to meet children’s developmental needs Ensure health, safety, safeguarding, and hygiene standards are maintained Communicate professionally with parents about nursery operations and their children’s development What Happens After You Apply Applications will be reviewed against the essential criteria.
