My FMCG client, based in Falkirk is looking for a proactive and organised Material Planner to join their Supply Chain team. The Material Planner, based in Falkirk will be responsible for ensuring materials are available when and where they're needed, while continuously improving supplier performance and inventory health. Your key responsibilities will include: Placing and managing purchase orders in line with demand using MRP. Taking full ownership of your designated parts, regardless of where they are sourced. Communicating with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and resolve issues proactively. Monitoring supplier performance and working with internal stakeholders to address any risks. Escalating material shortages early to prevent production disruption. Supporting production and kitting teams to meet build requirements. Managing delivery discrepancies, lost or damaged orders, and invoice queries. Handling modification requests, cancellations, and new part introductions efficiently. Actively reducing excess, inactive, and overstock inventory. Keeping material status reports, metrics, and system data accurate and up to date. Getting involved in supply chain improvement and development projects. Ideally, you will have the following experience… Experience in materials planning, supply chain, procurement, or a similar role. A good understanding of MRP systems and master data (or the willingness to learn). Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy environment. Confidence communicating with suppliers and internal teams. A proactive, solutions-focused attitude - you spot issues early and act on them. A team-player mentality with a genuine desire to support production success. Material shortages are communicated before they impact production. Delivery discrepancies are resolved within agreed timescales. Inventory health improves year-on-year.
