Can you help residents of our City with their housing need. Are you keen to ensure fair and inclusive customer service for all our residents. Interviews to be held: 3rd and 5th June in person at Hove Town Hall There is full information about the role below and attached but, if you would like an informal discussion, please contact Kerry Salkeld, Team Leader on kerry.salkeld@brighton-hove.gov.uk About the role We aim to provide expert Housing Advice to people experiencing homelessness or wishing to join the Council's Housing Register, explaining the services provided by the Council and their different housing options. You will assess housing need and taking appropriate action on people's applications under Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996, including initial decisions on any duties owed by the Council. We operate a rota system to share the required tasks which include, Welcoming customers to our busy homelessness and housing advice helpdesk. Running a duty advice phoneline. Booking and completing appointments. Co locating to reach all of Brighton & Hove's residents who need our assistance. Completing administative tasks as needed. You will be joining a diverse, customer focused team, dealing with customers and no two days are the same. We are a busy customer facing service. Additional information Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only. Team and service working arrangements are designed to support both employee work life balance and team collaboration. These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
