A leading civil engineering and renewables contractor is seeking a Site Environmental Advisor to support the environmental performance of major projects across the Central Belt, Scotland. This role is site-focused, providing practical environmental guidance, inspections and compliance support across active construction environments.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct environmental site inspections and audits
• Ensure compliance with CEMP, permits, consents and SEPA/EA requirements
• Monitor pollution prevention measures including silt control, drainage, bunding, fuel/oil storage and spill response
• Oversee waste management, segregation and Duty of Care compliance
• Support environmental incident investigations and corrective actions
• Deliver toolbox talks and environmental briefings to site teams
• Maintain environmental records, monitoring logs and audit close-outs
• Liaise with ecologists, planners, regulators and subcontractors
Ideal Background:
• Experience as an Environmental Advisor/Officer or ECoW with construction exposure
• Background in civils, renewables, utilities, grid/substations or infrastructure
• Knowledge of pollution prevention, waste regulations, water management and environmental permitting
• Familiarity with CEMP, ISO 14001 and SEPA/EA guidance
• Confident working on active construction sites and giving practical advice
