Salary: £88 – £110 per day

GSL Education are recruiting a specialist Communication Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in a Scarborough-based provision.
About the School
This specialist setting supports pupils with significant communication needs, providing a nurturing and structured environment. The school works closely with therapists and support staff to develop pupils’ communication, interaction and understanding through tailored interventions.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils with SLCN on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Use communication strategies to support learning and engagement
* Assist with speech and language interventions
* Encourage interaction, confidence and independence
* Work alongside teaching staff and external professionals
Requirements
* Experience supporting pupils with SLCN / communication needs
* Knowledge of strategies such as Makaton, PECS or similar desirable
* Patient and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
