Job Title: Catering Assistant

Location: Tickhill Road Site, Weston Road, Balby, Doncaster, DN4 8QN
Pay Rate: £12.51 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 12:30
About the Role
We are currently looking for one reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join the catering team at Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive NHS environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality catering services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation and cooking in line with standard recipes and portion control
* Receive deliveries, rotate stock, and ensure correct storage of supplies
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and kitchen hygiene
* Serve customers from catering outlets and support function catering
* Pick, pack, and deliver food orders to inpatient areas
* Operate kitchen equipment and regeneration ovens safely
* Drive and maintain the Trust catering vehicle, reporting any issues
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Catering Assistant or in a kitchen environment
* GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
* Food Safety Level 2 and/ or Allergen Awareness training (Desirable)
* Basic IT skills
* Good understanding of Health & Safety and food hygiene standards
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
