Inventory Control & Logistics Coordinator

Monday to Friday - 9-5pm
The Opportunity
Our client – a leading UK‑based e‑commerce business operating in a high‑value online environment – is looking for an Inventory Control & Logistics Coordinator. This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to join the team.
The role involves inventory management, attending stock takes and undertaking stock adjustments, and overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics to ensure a smooth and efficient movement of goods. The coordinator provides real‑time scheduling information to our Goods Inwards and Dispatch teams.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and attend interim stock takes, conduct stock write‑offs and adjustments as required.
* Arrange and oversee all inbound deliveries, working with couriers and shipping agents to ensure weight/value limits are respected.
* Prepare schedules for all inbound deliveries, collaborating with the Goods Inwards team to manage daily intake capacities.
* Prepare customs clearance instructions and maintain schedules for VAT and duties due.
* Arrange all special courier outbound shipments, liaising with customers to provide crew details for smooth delivery.
* Reconcile shipment costs against quotes, working with finance to provide cost information.
* Raise queries with shippers, escalating to claims where necessary.
* Perform other ad‑hoc duties that may be reasonably required.
During the first six months a probation period applies, during which training will be provided to achieve the required level of knowledge. A DBS check will be required as part of security procedures.
Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong prioritisation skills, able to react to rapid changes in demand and market conditions.
* Full understanding of stock audit trails.
* Excellent work ethic with a proactive approach to resolving challenges and exceeding expectations.
* Computer literate – proficient use of Excel and Microsoft Office.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with all internal departments, suppliers and service providers.
