We are looking for an efficient, motivated, solutions focused individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our Healthy Homes team which is part of our Private Sector Housing and Environmental Health team. The West Suffolk Healthy Homes team is essential in delivering the financial assistance associated with the Councils Housing Assistance Policy. Principally this is about delivering Disabled Facility Grants to enable residents to remain independent in their own home. In this important role, you will be responsible for overseeing grant applications, liaising with applicants and professionals and resolving enquiries and complaints. You will need to be both assertive, ready to challenge and problem solve. The role is essential to ensuring the processes and systems in use are working optimally. Key tasks involve the review of grant applications to ensure they are reasonable and practicable, compilation of data and figures for reports and oversight of the budget and supervise technical support within healthy homes. You will have excellent communication, and IT skills, have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and be highly organised. You must demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy, along with a thorough understanding of the Disabled Facilities (DFG) process and the associated aids adaptations.
