Principal Accountant (HRA) My client is a Local Authority in Essex who are looking to appoint a talented Principal Accountant a Interim basis. About the role: Based in Essex (Remote/Hybrid): This role is within the Financial Accounting / General Fund and Housing capital programmes. In addition to treasury and capital the team has responsibility for other technical areas, including VAT, leasing, Financial Regulations and other one-off special projects that arise from time to time. Contract type: Contract (36.25hrs a week) *Part-Time considered, 30 hours per week, Hours: 09:00 -17:30 Monday to Friday Responsibilities: The timely and accurate production of the annual Statement of Accounts. The HRA and Housing General Fund revenue and capital accounting. The Housing and General Fund Services capital programmes and accounting for capital, including fixed asset accounting. About you: You will have the following experience: An in-depth knowledge of local government finance and general local government procedures. Relevant staff management experience including the ability to deliver through others. Experience of liaison with budget managers and senior staff.
