We are looking for a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of complex electrical and control systems across our site, including rides, hotel, and resort infrastructure.
This is a hands‑on role working to OEM standards, supplier manuals, and our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring the highest levels of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing
Electrical Systems & Preventative Maintenance
* Carry out daily inspections of electrical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, transformers, and distribution systems
* Ensure all electrical components and power systems operate safely and efficiently
* Test and maintain sensors including proximity, temperature, and position devices
* Confirm full integration between electrical systems and control platforms
Ride Control & Safety Systems
* Test and maintain PLC and SCADA‑based ride control systems
* Verify emergency stop systems and critical safety circuits are fully operational
* Ensure all attractions meet strict operational and safety requirements
* Support maintenance activities across rides, hotel, and wider resort assets
* Diagnose faults quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
* Provide technical expertise during operational issues and breakdowns
Major Maintenance & Engineering Projects
* Deliver full electrical overhauls of rides and attraction systems
* Perform calibration, upgrades, and optimisation of electrical and control systems
* Carry out load testing and performance analysis under real operating conditions
* Collaborate with OEMs and specialist contractors for parts, diagnostics, and improvements
* Manage safe shutdowns, inspections, and recommissioning of systems
* Ensure all work meets regulatory compliance and certification standards
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
* Maintain the highest standards of electrical safety across all systems
* Test and verify protective devices including breakers, fuses, and emergency shutdown systems
* Conduct root cause analysis and failure investigations
* Complete incident reporting and support safety audits and risk assessments
* Rapidly diagnose electrical faults in PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems
* Carry out repairs and replacements in line with OEM guidance
* Test and validate systems following maintenance or repair work
* Work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless system integration
* Support wider engineering teams with troubleshooting and technical input
* Share knowledge and provide mentoring to technicians across the team
Requirements
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial, manufacturing, theme park, or similar environment
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, control systems, and fault‑finding techniques
* Experience working with PLCs and automated control systems (desirable)
* Ability to work safely, independently, and under pressure in a live operational environment
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
