Join a cutting-edge team driving innovation in power systems, with a strong focus on sustainability and electrification. This hands-on technician role supports the development and testing of advanced diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrain technologies.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
* Build, strip, and test electrification, diesel, and hybrid components
* Perform electrical safety checks including insulation resistance, ground bonding, and Hi-Pot testing
* Operate testbed systems and sign off test data for release
* Use diagnostic tools (CANape, Cat ET, AVL) for calibration and troubleshooting
* Raise and report issues via the Pre-Production Reliability Development (PPRD) process
* Collaborate with Facilities Engineering to implement and improve systems
* Interpret engineering drawings and manuals in a workshop setting
* Apply advanced diagnostics to resolve performance-related issues
👥 Team Environment
Work within a small, collaborative team of engineers and technicians. The role offers high visibility across R&D and product groups, contributing directly to next-gen power system innovation.
🧠 Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Electrical/Electronics background
* Strong mechanical fundamentals
* Experience with calibration/diagnostic tools (e.g., CANape, Cat ET, AVL)
Desirable:
* Exposure to EV, hybrid, AC/DC motors, high-voltage systems
* Experience in HGV, construction, or R&D environments
Systems Used:
* Microsoft 365 (basic proficiency)
* Calibration/diagnostic software
Qualifications:
* Apprenticeship (electrical/mechanical), ONC/HNC, or relevant degree
