Key Responsibilities
* The post holder will provide leadership to the Dental Nurse team on a daily basis, inspiring them with strong leadership, excellent clinical skills and a visible and exemplary commitment to patient‑centeredness.
* The post holder will work collaboratively with the Lead Dental Nurse and the Matron to accelerate department and staffing issues where appropriate.
* The post holder will carry out clinical dental nursing on a minimum of two days per week, ensuring credibility with the nursing team and role‑modeling excellent clinical nursing skills.
* The post holder will line‑manage the Senior Dental Nurses and an agreed number of Dental Nurses in the department.
* As well as line management of Dental Nurses the post holder will work closely with the Senior Dental Nurses to delegate a number of key operational tasks to the SDNs in the day‑to‑day operational management of clinical services.
* The post holder will represent their department at nurse management meetings and the clinical governance group and will be expected to take responsibility for delivering agreed actions with nursing teams.
* The post holder will deputise for the Lead Dental Nurse in their absence.
* The post holder will manage a number of required operational tasks for their department, as set out by the Management Team. This will include, as a minimum, responsibility for ordering stock and ensuring maintenance and repair.
