Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Safety Officer to oversee safety protocols and ensure the well-being of all attendees and staff at our fairground. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, preventing accidents, and responding promptly to any safety concerns. Duties
* Help with giving customers there bands as they enter the fair ground
* Conduct regular safety inspections across the fairground, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
* Monitor crowd movement and behaviour to prevent unsafe situations or overcrowding.
* Enforce safety rules and regulations among staff, vendors, and visitors.
* Respond swiftly to emergencies, including medical incidents or security threats, coordinating with emergency services as needed.
* Provide safety briefings and guidance to staff and volunteers before the event begins.
* Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective measures taken.
* Collaborate with event organisers to develop and update safety procedures tailored to the specific needs of the fairground.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation relevant to public events.
Qualifications
* SIA BADGE
* Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably within large public events or amusement environments.
* Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices relevant to fairgrounds or similar venues.
* Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively during emergencies.
* Good communication skills, capable of instructing staff and engaging with the public professionally.
* Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are desirable but not essential.
* A proactive attitude with organisational skills that ensure thorough safety oversight throughout the event duration.
