Protocol Education are recruiting an SEN Teacher to work within a specialist provision in the Sunderland area supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The provision offers a structured and supportive environment where pupils benefit from clear routines, personalised learning programmes and specialist communication strategies.

As a teacher within this setting, you will be responsible for supporting pupils to develop their communication skills, independence and confidence, while ensuring learning is accessible and engaging.


Responsibilities

* Delivering structured and differentiated lessons for pupils with autism
* Supporting pupils with communication using visual supports and alternative communication methods
* Working alongside Teaching Assistants to support pupils both individually and in small groups
* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
* Monitoring pupil progress in line with EHCP targets

The school is looking for a teacher who is patient, adaptable and committed to inclusive education.


Qualifications

Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and ideally have experience working with SEND pupils, although teachers with a strong interest in SEND are also encouraged to apply.

A DBS on the Update Service is preferred, however candidates who do not currently hold one will be required to apply for a DBS through Protocol Education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
