Position
To provide an accessible and effective nursing service to children and their families, taking forward the Public Health Agenda to maximise the health and wellbeing of all children. The childhood flu immunisation programme represents a key public health measure which contributes to the reduction of health inequalities by focusing on preventative care of school‑age children. As part of the Children’s Immunisation Service the post holder will provide professional nursing skills and knowledge to ensure the effective delivery of the Scottish Influenza programme.
This is a fixed term contract from 14th September 2026 – 27th November 2026
Hours
Hours of work will be 0900‑1300 or 0900‑1500 (Monday‑Friday) dependent on the school size. Annual leave week on 12th‑16th October.
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What you will do
To work as part of an integrated NHS Children and Families Health team, delivering immunisation services in all secondary schools in the three localities in Ayrshire, ensuring a high‑quality patient‑centred provision which is responsive to local need.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post

* Ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team promoting integrated nursing approaches
