Production & Materials Planner
Our client is seeking a talented Production & Material Planner to join their high-performing logistics and operations team in Portsmouth.
The role of a Material Planner is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with strong experience in production and material planning, ideally within a dynamic manufacturing environment, to play a pivotal role in supporting both current and future production needs through robust supply chain and planning processes.
Key Responsibilities of a Material Planner:

Coordinate material requirements with supplier capabilities to ensure accurate forecasting and supply alignment.

Oversee daily material schedules, tracking supplier deliveries and inventory levels to meet production targets.
*
Manage planning system data, including safety stock, lead times, and order policies to support MRP accuracy.
*
Support production planning activities to maintain on-time manufacturing performance and delivery commitments.
*
Lead continuous improvement efforts to optimise material supply chain performance and cost-efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
*
Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
*
Proven background in material planning within a manufacturing setting; experience in production planning desirable.
*
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, with SAP preferred.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for planning and reporting.
*
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to operate across cross-functional teams.
