We're Hiring: ELSA or THRIVE Practitioner – KS4 Alternative Provision
Are you passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives? We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at a specialist Secondary Alternative Provision, supporting students in Years 9–11 (KS4).
Our provision is a nurturing environment tailored for young people with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We pride ourselves on providing support that helps our students thrive both emotionally and academically.
About the Role: We are seeking a qualified ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) or THRIVE Practitioner to play a key role in the emotional development and wellbeing of our students. The successful candidate will work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to create tailored intervention plans and offer one-to-one or small group support.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted emotional and social support sessions using ELSA or THRIVE principles
Build trusting relationships with students to help them overcome barriers to learning
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to embed emotional wellbeing into the wider curriculum
Monitor and evaluate progress, adapting support as needed
Has a recognised ELSA or THRIVE qualification and experience delivering these interventions
Understands the challenges and strengths of students with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD
Is resilient, empathetic, and patient, with a genuine desire to support young people
Can work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
