We’re recruiting for an experienced and detail-driven Payroll Officer on a temporary-to-permanent basis to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll and pensions for a dynamic, multi-site organisation. Responsibilities will include: Manage end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll processing with full ownership of new starters, changes, leavers, and compliance. Ensure 100% accuracy and legal compliance with all payroll records and internal audits. Lead on complex pay structures including overtime, bonuses, allowances, and commission. Calculate and record statutory payments (sickness, maternity, paternity) and manage holiday pay weekly. Ensure all HMRC and statutory reporting is accurate and timely, including RTI submissions, P11D processing, and year-end tasks. Support and train Site Office Managers on local payroll responsibilities. Liaise with third parties on deductions (e.g. AOE, union, child support, benefits). Reconcile payroll to finance ledgers and ensure accuracy of costings. Take ownership of pension administration: auto-enrolment, deductions, amendments, and liaising with providers. Respond efficiently to payroll queries and continuously improve payrollprocesses for a better employee experience. The successful candidate will possess solid experience managing payroll end-to-end in a multi-site or medium-to-large organisation. You will have a strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and pension schemes. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and good communication skills are essential.
