NELFT is seeking three highly motivated, qualified nurses interested in undertaking the Community Nursing Specialist Practitioner qualification (DNSPQ) in January 2026. Candidates will be offered a fixed-term contract to undertake a one-year full-time course, taken jointly with Anglia Ruskin University.
Applications are open until: 05-10-2025. Interviews will be held on: 27-10-2025 and 28-10-2025. Candidates are expected to deliver a presentation during the interview process.
The course meets NMC standards (NMC 2022), and applicants must:
* Be an NMC registered nurse (level 1) with relevant professional registration, capable of safe and effective practice at the level of proficiency appropriate to the NMC approved Community Nursing Specialist Practice Qualification (SPQ) programme.
* Meet the NMC (2018) requirements to undertake V300 independent prescribing, including being registered with the NMC for at least one year.
* Have the academic capability to study at level seven, having undertaken some study at level 6.
Additional requirements include satisfactory references, Disclosure and Barring Service screening, and meeting other professional standards.
This development post aims to build on existing knowledge, skills, and competencies to achieve a higher level of practice, resulting in an academic qualification recognized by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Starting with NELFT, new starters will join on the first Monday of each month and undergo a comprehensive induction, including mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
This post is subject to a probationary period, except for internal applicants or those already in a probationary period. It also attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary, with a minimum of £4,714 and a maximum of £5,941 per annum (pro-rata for part-time).
