Our Building Consultancy team provides technical advice and construction expertise to navigate each stage of the building lifecycle.
Job Description
Our team covers all areas of building surveying, from dilapidation advice to schedules of condition, due diligence to expert witness work. We collaborate with occupiers, investors, financiers, and developers to advise on building performance, cost in use, future flexibility, and compliance.
About The Role
We are seeking students studying a Building Surveying related degree for a 12-month placement in our London office. You will gain real experience from day one, working on inspections and meeting clients across the UK. The role aims to develop your skills towards APC certification, with support and training provided. The placement begins in September 2025.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of professional advice through completing instructions
* Assist with site visits to assess building conditions, structural integrity, and compliance
* Draft reports on building conditions, identifying defects and maintenance needs
* Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project teams for smooth delivery
* Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
* Assist with risk assessments, ensuring health and safety compliance on site
Required Skills
* Studying a RICS-accredited degree is preferred
* Interest in Building Surveying and the built environment
* Self-motivated, organized, and able to work to deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proactive, eager to learn and develop
* Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Right to work in the UK by start date

Working Hours
Core hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexible start and end times. Out-of-hours work may be required. Flexible arrangements can be discussed.
