Job Title: Industrial Process Engineer – Tool and Automation Engineer
Location: Belfast
Hours: 4-day week, Monday-Thursday / 37 hours per week
As an Industrial Process Engineer – Tool and Automation Engineer, you will support the effective manufacture of Jig and Tool including Automation within program and budget constraints to ensure economical manufacturing methods. Your responsibilities include:
1. Utilizing team resources effectively.
2. Providing tooling and automation support across all business programs.
3. Creating Bills of Materials.
4. Supporting Tool Try Out processes and maintenance cycles.
5. Resolving internal production problems.
6. Liaising with customers on equipment issues.
7. Collaborating with multi-functional teams during product design for efficient manufacturing.
8. Specifying, selecting, justifying, and commissioning new tooling and automated equipment.
9. Seeking cost reductions and efficiency improvements for tooling and automation.
10. Estimating labor and materials for bids.
11. Training personnel in Tool Engineering activities.
Responsibilities:
* Overseeing Tool Engineering activities for departmental work packages.
* Providing guidance on tooling matters to team members.
* Ensuring tooling information supports efficient manufacturing.
Qualifications:
* Degree in engineering preferred; HND with experience accepted.
Experience:
* Minimum 3 years as a skilled Jig and Tool Engineer.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Experience in Tool and Automation design.
* Proficiency in Catia V5 R21 and Smarteam or equivalent 3D CAD software.
* Understanding of engineering drawings and geometrical tolerances (BS8888).
* Familiarity with ISO9001 environment and system procedures.
* Design for Manufacture and Assembly; Problem Solving; Machining and mechanical processes knowledge.
