Job summary
Are you an outstanding clinical nurse leader with patients and staff at the centre of everything you do? We are looking for an exceptional clinical leader for our inpatient respiratory department. We seek a Band 7 ward manager ready to lead a team to develop excellent evidence-based nursing and deliver an exceptional patient experience. Applicants should have experience in acute medicine and caring for acutely unwell patients. As ward manager, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Main duties of the job
1. Maintain responsibility for assessment and delivery of care needs, resource management, budget, capacity, and patient pathways on Palm Ward 24/7.
2. Provide effective leadership and clinical support based on evidence-based practices.
3. Participate in benchmarking and quality audits, provide feedback to staff, and implement improvements as needed.
4. Act as a role model, fostering a culture that supports and empowers staff to deliver safe and effective care.

Person Specification
Education and Training (Essential)
* Registered General Nurse or equivalent
* Educated to degree level or working towards
* Recognised mentorship course
* Evidence of ongoing clinical and professional development
Knowledge and Experience (Essential)
* Experience at Band 6 ward level
* Experience in speciality and management in an acute setting
* Knowledge of current nursing issues
* Understanding of professional responsibilities
