The role will be to support and lead product developments with the application of engineering theory and provide mechanical and hydraulic engineering expertise to the Product Development Department and other functions within and outside the company in an efficient manner with due regard to safety and to the highest quality.Main Duties:Apply engineering theory in support of new product developmentLead and oversee new product development projectsLead and oversee new product introduction (NPI) projectsLead and oversee test rig development projects for R&D testing facilitiesTake a leading role in the control of engineering master data such as drawings, models and MRP system material records and bills of materials, including the issuing and timely processing of engineering changesAssist Sales team with technical expertise to support new business development activities, sometimes involving UK and foreign travelUse the latest 3D and FEA tools in the mechanical design of components and assemblies for new product developmentsWrite high-quality reports of all R&D testing Learn and adapt new developments, technologies, techniques and processes for use in new and existing productsProactively engage in VA/VE activities necessary to ensure the company maintains its cost competitivenessPrepare customer installation drawingsAssist with the preparation of localised detailed drawings for all productsProduce 3D models of all Staffa products and, when agreed with KPMJ, of KPMJ-designed products, as requested by distribution and direct customersAssist all other Departments with engineering needsProvide detailed tolerance analysis to aid manufacture of current designsExperience & Qualifications:Degree qualified in a relevant engineering disciplineAble to write technical reports to the highest standardFull grasp of, and ability to apply, the principles of mechanical engineeringAdvanced knowledge of engineering drawings and associated disciplinesUse of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPointExcellent communication skillsTPBN1_UKTJ
